Who We Are?

The San Carlos Irrigation Project (SCIP Power) Customer Group is working with neighboring public power utilities to identify a solution to the issues with SCIP. The Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) has announced that it is developing options for the divestiture of SCIP Power Systems and is seeking to engage with electric utilities in Arizona, to assume ownership and responsibility for BIA’s off-reservation electric facilities and customers.
Representatives of nearby non-profit public power utilities (electric cooperatives, electric districts, and others) are working on a joint effort to support SCIP customers, support the divestiture of SCIP, and develop a long-term plan for providing reliable and affordable service.
